A Sign for the Station
In 2006, local artist Sonnie Green was asked to paint a new sign for the station. The piece she created incorporated the original Bulldog mascot from the former Greensboro High School, a tribute to the many GFD members who either attended or taught at the school (now known as West Gadsden High School). Among the alumni are Mrs. Green and JB Toole (teachers); Doug Stiles (SRO), and Lamar Alday, Frances and David G. Underwood, and Travis and Jessica Lynn (students).
Mrs. Green was presented a Maltese Cross plaque in appreciation for her efforts, and the sign was installed on the front of the station between the bay doors.
