WEBB
Looking for any male WEBB who married an Indian woman (no name for her yet) at the Cape May courthouse between 1810 and 1825. They had at least four sons, including my great-great-great grandfather, WILLIAM DOUGLAS WEBB, who was born @1821. William ran away from home when he was 16, and worked on coastal schooners. He worked on the ships for several years and eventually developed scurvy and debarked at Mobile, Alabama. In 1842 WILLIAM WEBB married Louisa Boyd, in Tuscaloos, AL. When an old man, he wrote back to Cape May, trying to find relatives - he was told by one of his sisters that his brothers (three or four of them) "went West" and that his father had "raised up a whole new family." Any info on William's parents? Thanks.

Was there a name change from HESSE, HESSELl, VAN HESSELl, VAN RENSSELAER, HESSELSZEN or UTHEST (al HAN JOST HESS)? All of these surnames are found in the NY, NJ area. RODAN (RHODAN) - WOOD
I am looking for some information on on my greatgrand mother's family. She was Evaline Wood Rodan. She was married to Clarence Frye Kuhn and they raised their family in Bridgeton, N. J.Her parents were Benton Rodan 1843-1927 and her mother was Eva Wood 1862-1922. They are buried in Cold Spring Cemetary . I have been told that her grandparents were Thomas Rodan 1782-1862 or 1787-1869 and her mother was Experience Rodan 1793?-1864. I found Thomas in the 1850 census but it was spelled Rhodan. They are buried in an old cemetary in South Dennis, N J. I think it it a methodist one.I have found their tombstones. I believe their must have been another set of parents between Thomas and Experience and Benton and Eva due to their ages. We have always been told that our grandmother was a descendant of the mayflower people but I do not know if that is true. Supposably Thomas was English but I have also been told that he was from France and got left ashore in Cape May durning a heavy fog where he was sent to obtain fresh drinking water. I would appreciative any information that anyone could give me. I would also like the address of the cemetary in Cold Spring as well as the little Methodist one in South Dennis.(it is only opened a few times a year)

HAND, GARRISON
I have traced my tree to: Job HAND (gr-gr-gr-grfr) born 8 November 1823 Dias Creek (?), NJ (also called West Creek in other records), died 28 September 1878 Port Norris, Cumberland, NJ, marr about 1840-45 to Margaret GARRISON, dau of James and Mary GARRISON. West or Dias Creek is in extreme northwest Cape May Co., formimg the Cumberland Co. border. Then I hit a brick wall, with only the tantalizing suggestion that Job's father might have been Jeremiah and his mother might have been Sarah (?). Anybody know anything that might help?

TEAL
Researching TEAL family of Cape May County for book on Delaware Valley Dale/Deal/Diehl/Teal/Thiel, etc. families. The Teals first appear in Cape May in the 1770s. Perhaps they were another of the New England families that settled in Cape May? Many were mariners and pilots who moved back and forth from Philadelphia, where some later settled. The Teals intermarried with several old Cape May families, such as CASSIN, HAND, HUGHES and SHAW. Welcome any exchanges of information.
