LANDLESS
I am searching for information on Margaret Landless. She was born October 14,1884 and died December 1973 in Cape May. Margaret ran a photography studio on the boardwalk with her family and never married. Her brother Harry was my great-grandfather. When Harry married my great-grandmother Sarah McGowan (around the turn of the century) his sister and any remaining Landless kin disowned him for marrying a Catholic woman. The family never reconciled. I would like to find out what ever I can about Margaret and any other Landless members. Please E-mail me with any information.

Earliest known ancestor is Randall Huet/Huit born about 1607, arrived Lynn, MA in 1638, moved to Long Island by 1646 and then to Virginia by 1652. He married Margaret Andrews Stringer of Lower Norfolk, VA and returned to New York by 1657 where he was a Burger of New Amsterdam. By 1667 he had become an original resident of Portland Point, NJ, where he died in 1669. He had 3 sons: Randall II, Joseph, and Thomas. Randall II was born in Long Island, NY about 1653. He married Dorothy(last name unknown) and moved to Cape May County, NJ around 1690 where he operated a whalefishing company with his 2 brothers and nine others. He died in Feb of 1694/95. He had 4 children: Randall III, Joseph, Ann and Dorothy. Joseph was born after 1675 in New Jersey. He married Hester or Esther Hand. He died in Cape May County in Dec 1713. He had 5 children: Thomas, Mary, Hester/Esther, Anne/Ann, and Joseph, Jr. Thomas was born Aug 31, 1707 in Cape May County. He married Abigail(last name unk) in July 1728. He died August 1780. He had nine children: Jonathan, Thomas Jr., Joseph, William, Azariah, Daniel, Esther, Abigail, and Jane. We think this William is the same William mentioned above.
