The Blue Moon Coffeehouse
One of the real treasures of central Illinois, the Blue Moon Coffeehouse is run out of Illinois Wesleyan University and provides the opportunity to see nationally respected folk music acts in an intimate, comfortable setting right here in central Illinois. The brain-child of Darcy Greder, the Blue Moon has featured performers such as Vance Gilbert, Carrie Newcomber, John Gorka, Christine Lavin, Ani DiFranco, Greg Brown, Cheryl Wheeler, Kris Delmhorst, and many more. The atmosphere is always nice, the sound is excellent, the treats delicious, and the talent diverse and always worth hearing. This season's highlights have included a rousing opening show by Jill Sobule and fine performances by Carrie Newcomer, supporting her new CD "The Gathering of Spirits," Dave Moore, Cheryl Wheeler, and Susan Werner among many others. It was a great 2002-2003 season at the Blue Moon and we are looking forward to 2003-2004.
