Flagg Pottery was officially founded in 1975 in Chillicothe, IL. Chuck Flagg remains the sole potter employed there by the business owner/wife Patty Flagg who is also a weaver. Flagg Pottery specializes in custom cone 10 stoneware pottery which is wheel thrown and hand built. The main collection contains functional pottery: mugs, steins, tea pots, pitchers, bowls, place settings, platters, casseroles, bread pans, muffin pans, salt & pepper, canister sets, and many other serving style dishes. Chuck has also created lighting fixtures, oil lamps, candle holders. If you can dream it, Chuck will try to figure out a way to produce it. Flagg Pottery has produced all Speech Trophies for the Bradley Speech Team for the past 23 years, as well as ICC Speech Trophies, IFA Speech Trophies, & MAFL Speech Trophies. He does pet crematory urns as well as custom burial urns for individual customers and mortuaries. Chuck also does sculptural clay works in small and large scale. From small table pieces to large scale wall murals. The challenge of producing large scale pieces is an exciting change from wheel thrown production. Chuck has shown his work at local and regional art fairs and galleries for the past 35 years and has work in private collections locally, nationally, and internationally. His work has been published in several pottery books. If you would like to see a current resume click here.
