Individual Note:   Joseph Tucker moved from Nelson County,Kentucky to the Saint Genevieve District,Missouri,called "The Barrens."There were so many Tuckers that the settlement was often called "Tucker Settlement." In Joseph Tucker's will he left $100.00 to the Catholic congregation of the Barrens. He also left a silver chalice to the congregation.
Joseph Tucker owned a Grist-Mill in Saline Creek, Perry Co. Mo, built in 1801 He was appointed Justice of the peace on 14 Oct. 1807 for St. Genevieve Dist. of St. Geneveive Co. He was listed in the Census of St. Inigoes Parish, St. Mary's County, Maryland. Above his name was a Mary Tucker which could possibly be his mother.
Joseph was a Revolutionary War Patriot. He was a private in Maryland His occupation was listed as a farmer.
