Individual Note:   Sir Gilbert De Clare was 3rd Earl of Gloucester and 5th ofHertfordshire. he died on a diplomatic mission for Henry the3rd and was brought home for buriel at Tewkesbury Abby. He was of the Magna Charta Surety

Individual Note:   According to the "Tewkesbury Chronicle" Isabel Marshall wanted to be buried by her first husband Gilbert de Clare at the Abbey. Her second husband Richard of Cromwell had her buried at Beaullieu Abbey in Hampshire. As a good gesture he allowed her heart to be buried at Tewkesbury

Individual Note:   reigned 871-899. He prevented the Danish Conquest of England., defeating them at edington(878) after a gueririla warfare. After the victory he allowed the Danes to keep their conquests in Mercia and East Anglia provided that Guthrum, their King was converted to Christianity. Alfred also built a Navy of Warships to defend the south coast against Danish further invasions (885-886) and again in (892-896) and protected Wessex with a chain of fortifications. He took London (886), gaining contol of all England except the danish areas.
