Individual Note:   Henry 11 reigned from1154-1189 He ruled an empire that ran from the Tweed to the Pyreenes.In spite of frequent hostilities with the
french King his own family,and rebellious Barons(culminating in the Great Revolt of 1173-74) and his quarrel with Thomas Becket, Henry maintained control over his possessions until shortly before his death. His judical and administrative reforms which increased Royal control and influence at the expense of the Barons were of great constitutional importance. Introduced by Jury,Duke of Normandy

Individual Note:   Eleanor was married to both Louis VII of France and Henry II of England. she was also the mother of Richard The Lion-Heart and John of England. she was most likely the most powerful woman in the 12th century in Europe
    She helped her sons in a revolt against her husband and the revolt failed. She was imprisoned and was not released until the death of her husband
Eleanor died in 1204 at the monastery at Fontevrault. She had retired there after the campaign of Mirebeau. The nuns at the monastery wrote after her death that "She was a Queen that surpassed all Queens of the world
