        Will of Francis Hayden

        In the name of God Amen the 30th day of Aprill 1697 I ffrencis Heyden of St. Mary's county in the province of Maryland being Sick in Body but of good and pfect Memory thanks be to Almighty God; Doe make constitute ordaine and Declare this my last will and Testament in Manner and fforme ffollowing Revoakeing and Dis anulling by these psents all and every Testament & Testaments Will and Wills heretofore by me made and Declared either by Word or Writing and this is to be taken only for my last Will and Testament and nowe other ffirst I comitt my Soule unto Almighty God Who Gave it me And my body to be burried by my Executrix then Doe hereby Constitute and appoint Thomasine Heyden my Now Wife Sole Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament and I Doe Give and bequeath unto ye said Thomasin all my Lands Goods and Chatles and Whatsoever else Doth or Ought Appartaine or belong unto me Desiring her to pay all my Due Debts and Incumberances with(sic) I have Contracted I Say I Doe Devise and bequeath unto her all my Lands an Chattles to her and her heirs for Ever In Witness whereof I have herunto Sett my hand and Seale the Day and yeare above Specified.

IN THE NAME OF GOD AMEN the nineteenth day of September in the year of our Lord 1701: Thomasin Heydon of Snt. Marys county in the province of Maryland widdow being Sick & weake of body tho in perfect mind& Memory Doe make Ordaine Constitute & Declarethis my last will & Testament in manner & forme following first I Commit my soule to Almighty God my maker & jesus Christ my redeamer hopeing through the merrits of his bitter Death & glorious passion to be Saved & as for what wor(l)dly Estate Almighty God hath been pleased to bestow upon me I Dispose of as hereafter followeth first my will is that all Debts whatsoever I owe to any person or persons whomso ever be well & truely paid by my Executors hereafter named & my body to be buried in Decent manner at the Directions of my Executors hereafter named ffirst I Give and bequeath to my loving son William Hayden my tract of land I now live on Called & knownby the name of Small hopes to him & the heires of his body forever and for want & Default of such heires I Give &bequeath itt to my Loveing Daughter Mary Reeder & her heires forever I Give & bequeth to my Loveing Daughter Mary Reeder my Chests & my Cloathes linnen & Woollen to her and her heires for ever.
        I Give and bequeath to my Daughter Penelope Allman twelve pence All the remaining part of my personal Estate I Give and bequeath to my loveing Son William Hayden and my loveing Daughter Mary Reeder to them and their heirs for ever to be Equally Divided between them. Lastly I doe make ordaine and Constitute my loveing son William hayden my whole and Sole Executor of this my last will and testament In Witness whereof Ihav hereunto Set my hand and Seale the day and Year above written
