PUXICO, Mo. -- Carrie Walker, 93, of Puxico died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Puxico
Nursing Center.
She was born June 21, 1907, at Brownwood, Mo., daughter of George and Elizabeth
Stewart Carlton.
She married Orville Walker Feb. 27, 1926. He died July 4, 1987.
She had lived in Puxico all her life. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist
Church near Puxico.
Survivors include four sons, Lester Walker of Malden, Mo., Freeman Walker of
Bloomfield, Mo., George Walker of Puxico and Orville Walker Jr. of Barnhart, Mo.; a
daughter, Connie Marquis of Puxico; a brother, Leroy Carlton of Fresno, Calif.; 12
grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. today at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Marty Blakey will
officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery near Puxico.

Individual Note: John Wilson and his wife, Charlotte Dumas with their six children arrived in Marion County, Illinois in the year of 1819. They settled on section 32. After his wife died he married Mary Tripp Moon. He and Mary had three children. John was called "St. John",because he was always helping someone who had problems. John died October 25,1864 in Marion County.

Individual Note: James Rankin Alexander was first found in Illinois 1840 Marion County Census. He lived in Marion County,Illinois until the late sixties. He was next found in the Greene County,Missouri,Springfield Campbell Township in the 1870 census living with his daughter Elizabeth Stribling. then in the 1880 census he was living with his son William S. in Jackson Township,Greene County,Missouri.He was living with his son at the time of his death on March 4,1893.
James received a pension on his son James W. Alexander who died in the Civil War.
