I love to cook. Not that I am very good at it, but what I have learned is buy quality equipment first, and you will save money last. Some things that you need to look at when you are cooking is your health. You can learn to cook healthy and cook good. informed the decision will be. Have fun! You know what I mean? I can't tell you how may measuring cups, and spoons I have purchased. Oh, and how about all those spatulas and mixing spoons and knives. Get a Teflon spatula, good quality stainless steel cookware and stainless steel utensils for the kitchen. I found that an inexpensive rack for hold garden tools or tool (you can find them at your favorite home improvement store in the heavy duty wire shelves section, will work nicely into the kitchen as well. Those are a few of my tips. Are you on the go and don't have time to cook. A steamer Black and Decker made the one I use, it is a double Decker. I got it initially to cook rice in. But I can cook entire meals with it. Great for Chicken meals, fish, rice potatoes. A slow cooker. Soup, stews, chili and pot roasts. The staples of life. Do you have one of those bread machines but wonder why go to all the trouble to make bread when it cost as much or more for a box mix. Get that book out that came with your machine. Make your own bread. It taste better anyways. Not as chewy as the box mixes. Use your timer on your stove to help you plan meals. If you can let the meal sit out (in the oven) for an hour or so without compromising the bacterial growth (allowing it to happen) Then make your meals up in the mornings. When you get home use your time bake feature on the oven and let the dish come to room temperature while it is waiting to start baking. It will shut off when you told it too. Make sure you allow 5 to 7 min on the cooking time for preheating. Now when you get rich and famous, get that stove that will keep your food cold, cook it and then put it back into a chill if it doesn't get paid attention to after a certain amount of time. YEAH. Ok.
