is listed. After Samuel is Sarah J., daughter; Samuel W.
16; Charles W., 15; Clayton, 12; John, 10; Ernest, 8;
Tazwell, 4. In the 1870 census for Montgomery County, Virginia, page 76?, line 39, is Samuel Bishop, age 40 or 45, with Lucinda (with initial maybe S or L), age 37, keeping house. There is a Henry, 15, Mary E., 12, Samuel W, 7, Charles W, 4, Clayton, 2, and Silas, 2/12 (born in May). 1860 Montgomery County, Virginia, census page 92, line 16. lists Samuel Bishop, age 28; Lucinda, age 26; Henry A., age 4; Mary, age 2; and Sarah J., age 6/12. The 1850 census for Frederick County, Virginia, lists a Samuel Bishop, age 18, labourer. Lucinda was listed in the 1860 and 1870 censuses but not the 1880 census. The last child born was Tazwell, listed as being 4 in 1880. So, Lucinda died or left between 1876, when Tazwell was born and June 18, 1880, when the census was taken. |
