Being stationed at Long Binh afforded us the chance to see USO shows. I attended two. First, the Roy Acuff Show, and then on Christmas Day 1967, the Bob Hope Show. The cast included Bob Hope, Raquel Welsh, Barbara McNair, Elaine Dunn, Miss World 1967 Madeleine Hartog-Bel, Phil Crosby, and Earl Wilson. Watching the video, I realized that at 19 years of age, I probably missed half of the jokes Hope told.

One thing that bugged me about the show was the platform set up right in front of the stage. It made it difficult to see. Bob Hope was standing in the middle of the stage. In the original photo you can see the top of his red hat.
