Smoke Plumes (Page Two)

On February 4, 1967,VC sappers got through the wire at the Long Binh ammo dump and blew up something like 15,000 high explosive 155mm artillery rounds.  (http://720mpreunion.org/history/time_line/1967/02_67_tl/1967_04_feb.html) I remember hearing explosions and walking out into the company area to see the plume rising. We were able to see the shock waves from each explosion push through the clouds. The clouds seemed to rise and flow over the shock wave.

One thing I'm not clear on is how and where I took this next picture. It looks like it was taken out on a job site, what with all the tracks in the foreground. But, this photo was the first exposure on the roll that has two other pictures that I distinctly remember being of the Tet ammo dump explosions.

This is either part of the Tet offensive, or just another shot on the EOD team disposing of stuff.

This is just the first photo cropped.
