My Vietnam Experience
Company Party Photographs

During the time I was in B Company we had two company parties. Both times there a jeep trailer packed with ice and a wide variety of beer and soft drinks. Steaks were grilled to order by the cooks outside the mess hall. The black and white photographs were taken during the first company party. The color photographs were taken at the second part.

I also remember one other time we had free beer. It was following a work detail in which we filled sand bags down in the motor pool.

Party time. Looking toward Highway 1A. That's the mess hall on the right and the company HQ in the tent on the left.

Grilling outdoors always makes the food taste better.

If memory serves, the guy on the left is named Thompson. Third from the right might be Shaffer. I think he worked in the parts room. I don't remember the name of the fellow in the T-shirt. The fellow on the extreme right is Sluter.

Another shot of the same table as above, but with a couple of changes. I don't know who that is on the left with his back to the camera. That's Thompson, wearing the striped shirt, partly hidden. At the far end of the table is McKinney. Then Shaffer, and Sluter.

This shot is looking  the other direction. Mess hall on the left; company HQ on the right. I think that's my barracks tent in the background.
