Man Could Face 17 Years for Camcorder Piracy

19 year old Missouri resident Curtis Salisbury is looking at the possibility of spending many upcoming birthdays and holidays in prison instead of with his loved ones. In fact the crime he has committed carries prison time of up to 17 years. What is young Salisbury accused of? Armed robbery, car jacking, or some other violet street crime? No Salisbury aimed his camcorder at the screen and taped the movie “Bewitched” , then proceeded to upload the film onto the world wide web.

He also filmed and distributed another Hollywood flop, A Perfect Man. Both of these films where big disappointments for the industry this summer. Salisbury should be ashamed of himself for risking his freedom over two movies of such poor quality. However he should be even more ashamed of trying to obtain money for his bootlegs of these two films. While I can and do sympathize with 'scene' members who are caught and punished for activities that they do not profit from, and do only for fun, I do not feel so sorry for Curtis. However one can not help but wonder if our FBI's time and money might not be better spent protecting US citizens from terrorism, then protecting Hollywood from the likes of young Salisbury.
