The organizations represented here are blazing the trail to the Singularity. Some of these projects are developing the root Singularity technologies while others are designing applications assuming the availability of molecular nanotechnology, molecular biotechnology, and artificial general intelligence.

Artificial General Intelligence Research Institute
The AGIRI is a small team of individuals committed to explicitly working toward the grand goal of true artificial general intelligence. They are designing, building, and testing the Novamente AI Engine . Novamente means "new mind". This program is under development, and ambitions for it are large indeed. They intend for Novamente to be the world’s first real Artificial General Intelligence – the first piece of software with roughly human-level general thinking power ... and then after that, through consistent goal-directed self-modification, thinking power on a substantially and increasingly superhuman level.

The Lifeboat Foundation
The Lifeboat Foundation is an organization dedicated to providing solutions that will safeguard humanity from the growing threat of terrorism and technological cataclysm. This humanitarian organization is pursuing all possible options, including self-sustaining technologies using AI and nanotechnology, with an emphasis on self-contained space arks.

Zyvex
Zyvex was founded to become the world’s leading supplier of tools products and services that enable adaptable, affordable, and molecularly precise manufacturing. Zyvex has been developing technology that will eventually lead to a Molecular Assembler technology.

ISR Space Elevator
The ISR Space Elevator is a revolutionary way of getting from Earth into space, a ribbon with one end attached to Earth and the other end in space beyond geosynchronous orbit (35,800 km altitude). The space elevator will ferry satellites, spaceships, and pieces of space stations into space by electro-magnetic propulsion. NASA's Institute for Advanced Concepts (NAIC) granted funds to Dr. Bradley Edwards, ISR's Director of Research, to investigate the feasibility of designing and building a space elevator. Carbon nanotube construction is the key to space elevator viability.

Center for Responsible Nanotechnology
The purpose of CRN is to investigate the societal implications, long-range risks, and effective use of nanotechnology, and to educate those who will influence its use, or be affected by it. CRN presents the results for both technical and popular audiences, and works to supply the information as effectively as possible. In order to provide well-grounded and complete information, clear explanation, and workable proposals, CRN studies, clarifies, and researches the issues involved—political, economic, military, humanitarian, and technological.

Living Universe Foundation
The Living Universe Foundation seeks to preserve the ecology of the Earth while colonizing the oceans and outer space, all as part of humanity's attaining its highest possible scientific, humanitarian, and aesthetic development. Advanced technologies will be required for the achievement of long range goals. Aquarius is the LUF's initial colony, not in space, but in an environment nearly as challenging, the sea.

Nanocomputer Dream Team Inc.
The NanoComputer DreamTeam has been focused on developing many education and information projects while observing the quantum growth ofNanoTechnology, NanoScience and NanoEducation. They are a portal for news, solutions, and discussion.

Artificial Development, Inc.
Artificial Development is building the largest neural network to date to model a state-of-the-art emulation of the human brain. With 20 billion neurons and 20 trillion connections, CCortex is up to 10.000 times larger than any previous attempt to replicate, partially or completely, primary characteristics of Human Intelligence, and is the first neural system to achieve a level of complexity rivaling that of the mammalian brain.
