Far from an expert on BIAB, but do use it from time to time. It's a handy tool. The thing with most sequencing software per se is usually you need to work from the ground up -- start with nothing and fill in all the parts. That's my preferred method when I have full scores. BUT when you'd like something to fill in a missing bit or play along with BIAB works pretty well. You fill in the chord progression, choose a style, and let it fill in the blanks -- drums, guitar, bass keyborads and horn sections or strings, depending on the chosen style. It doesn't do real well with time signature changes, etc, but is a handy thing to have around. For something to play along with, its good for practicing with -- again fill in the chord progression, pick a style & go. The basic style sets that are included have been good enough for me, but they do offer (for cost) additional styles you can add into the the BIAB program. I'm pretty sure they have some more latin styles for sale. They have a lot of other add-in styles too. I think I'm on my 3rd version of it 2006 -- I usually use it for 2 -3 yrs before thinking of updating it. with this latest version, you can pull in a full midi file and it'll do its best at deciphering the chord progression automatically. Does an ok job. They do seem to keep improving it. This version included the Virtual SoundCanvas (VSC) software synth -- was pretty surprised by the quality. Sill like my external SC55mkII I've had since 1994, but the soft-synth is getting better. -- Dave
