I use an external midi module -- the Roland SoundCanvas model SC55mkII. I got it in about 1994 or so, and have been very happy with it ever since -- 3 computers later.... I used to send the midi data to the module via the various models of SoundBlasters I've had, then a few years ago, I got a dedicated midi interface -- the MidiMan WinMan 2x2, an ISA slot device. This latest computer I built, I chose a motherboard (ABIT KT7A-Raid) that still had an ISA slot, but found out that the MidiMan model I have doesn't work in WinXP (pro)... Oh well, I went back to sending the data out of my (now) SBLive! Value... Seems to be working fine. I use System Exclusive (sysex) messages embedded in the midi data of my sequences that are keyed specifically for the SC line of midi devices, and have been told that they work on the SC-88, etc.... Probably more than you wanted to know.... Take care, Dave
