The Louis P. Best Mansion Apartments (Grandview) is a very quiet apartment complex located in Davenport's Gold Coast just 2 blocks from downtown Davenport and 3 blocks from the Palmer College campus. The apartments are in an historic mansion, garage, and chauffer's quarters that were sensitively converted to premium apartments in 1928.  With over an acre of land, it is situated in a park-like setting and has ample off-street parking. Our goal is to preserve this very important architectural masterpiece and at the same time, provide unique, quality, housing opportunities to the community. Our occupants are primarily young professionals who have an appreciation for the unique ambiance and quality surroundings that this fine mansion provides. 

The architectural style of the mansion is Spanish Mission Revival.  The interior detailing is in the Arts and Crafts style.  It was designed by Davenport's leading architectural firm, Clausen and Clausen.  Being very advanced for its time, the structure is entirely fireproof, constructed entirely of masonry with reinforced concrete and hollow-tile floor systems.  This is also excellent for sound control.

Pass the time by sunning in the private "park" or just relax and enjoy view.

The grounds are manicured by a contract lawn service.

The beautiful Art and Crafts style staircase greets visitors and the bronze statuary lamp on the newel post lights their way.  Oak Paneling rises 6 feet above the floor.  Eleven foot ceilings and 9 1/2 foot tall doorways create a feeling of spaciousness.
