Terry is the oldest son of Malcolm Emerson from Malcom’s first marriage. Jocelyn is the only mother he really has ever known. When he was 18, he served in the military in Vietnam. He endured the jeers and the sneers of people who could not understand why in the world anyone would want to go over there and fight. But he did, and lived to regret it. He saw things that no man should ever see, and there are days when he cries in his room, and his only solace is his wife Devon. He met Devon when she was 16 and he was 25, and had just come out of his 7 year tour of the military. She was a breeze of fresh air, and he fell in love with her sweetness. Being with Devon and focusing on building a life with her is what helped to keep him sane from the scars that serving in Vietnam had left on him.

One of the hardest lessons Terry has ever learned was that death can strike those you love in an instant. Three years ago his baby girl was diagnosed with Leukemia and as the periods of remission grow farther and farther apart he is driven to the edge with the fear his daughter will die. Several weeks ago Devon and Terrance were hit with the devastating news that Keisha is sick again, she is no longer in remission. His worst nightmare of possibly loosing his baby girl is about to be played out all over again and he doesn’t know what to do or to say to help her. He knows from before how slim of a chance it will be to find a bone marrow donor for her if necessary. He is praying that it won’t have to come to that.
