CLEARLAKE MODELERS CONSTITUTION

ARTICLE 1 – NAME

The name of this Club shall be CLEARLAKE MODELERS.


ARTICLE II – PURPOSE


Section 1. The objectives of this Club shall be to provide a working organization to procure and maintain flying sites for the active membership.

Section 2. The Club shall serve as a source of cooperation and information in all aspects Of model building and flying for the individual membership, and perpetuate The Hobby by encouraging youth and other interested parties to participate.


ARTICLE III – MEMBERSHIP

Section 1. Membership shall be composed of those people that are primarily interested In building and flying R/C airplane models, but all facets of modeling Activities are to be encouraged.

Section 2. Membership shall be made up of both male and female persons, including seniors (18 years and over) and juniors (under 18 years).

Section 3. The membership committee shall first approve application for membership. The membership chairman shall then present the application at the next regular meeting to be voted upon by the members at large. Applicants will then be notified of the final disposition of their application.

Section 4. Members in good standing shall be those persons whose dues are paid according to the records of the Treasurer, and that also have an individual membership in AMA.

Section 5. Potential new members can have a Grace Period in order to receive flight instruction from an AMA member of the Club. Before that person is to solo, He or she will be required to join the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). The Club will not accept dues for membership until the requirements for Joining AMA has been met.


ARTICLE IV – VACANCIES

A vacancy in any office shall be filled by election by the membership at a regular meeting, such appointee to serve until the end of the term for which his or her predecessor was elected.


ARTICLE V – DUES

Section 1. Club Officers shall set the rate of Club dues, and presented to the membership at a regular meeting.


ARTICLE VI – MEETINGS

Section 1. Regular meetings shall be held during the first week of each month. The date of the meeting to be decided by 51% vote of members present.

Section 2. Special meetings of the Club can be called at any convenient time, where the business to be discussed is of such importance that it is best served at an earlier date than the next regular meeting.


ARTICLE VII – AMENDMENT OF ARTICLES OR BY-LAWS

Section 1. Any proposed amendment to the Articles or By-Laws shall be submitted in writing at any annual, special, or regular meeting of the members. The proposed amendment shall be brought forward by any member in good standing and shall be read at the meeting by the Secretary. After the reading, action will be taken by the full membership.

Section 2. The vote of 51% of the membership in good standing shall be required to amend the Articles or By-Laws. The vote shall be made at any duly Called annual, special, or regular meeting. Written proxy votes signed by the Member will be accepted.


ARTICLE VIII – ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND DRUGS

Section 1. It shall be the policy of this Club that the use of alcoholic beverages, or drugs, or being under the influence of alcohol or drugs, while attending any meeting, program, or flying session shall be considered detrimental to the best interests of the Club.

ARTICLE IX – GUESTS

Section 1. All members are welcome to bring guests to any regular meeting and to bring A guest to any regular Club flying activity. Guests will, however, be the responsibility of the members accompanying the guest.
