This
is just a quick view of what is going on with the toy.
1966 CHEVY II (NOVA) SUPER SPORT

I bought the car early summer of 2001. It did run, but had not spun the tires for 10 years. Just had to block sand and buff the body, Add a few bucks worth of parts, and pull the engine and do some tweaking so I could do some cruzing for the summer. Sure makes it sound cheap and easy HUH ? (NOT)

2002 UPDATE
After working on the car most of the winter its road ready again.

Fresh 327,lots a new chrome and a shit load of buffing and polishing.

Took it to its first car show in June 2002 and won her first trophy (FIRST PLACE in Pro Street)
In the fall I got into a wheel hop doing a killer burnout and blew the transmission and rear end. OOPS. Well they were the weak link and needed some attention. At least I knew what I was going to work on This winter. :-)

2003 UPDATE

New
Lakewood Bell housing, 1966 Muncie M-20 Transmission that I rebuilt myself.
After a bunch of research and parts locating, I figured out that 4-speeds are
not too hard to rebuild. A new set of Caltracs to prevent wheel hop and help it
hook up.
.6/2003 New rearend is a chevy II 12 bolt posi with richmond 3.73 gears, and Moser axles with long studs. Going from a 308 gear to a 373 makes it feel like I added another 75 horse.
8/2003 New stuff = Crane H6I CD Ignition and coil, Carbon fiber monster tach and shift light, Dual master cylinder and line lock, Frame connectors, More chrome, And a few custom made carbon fiber pieces.
So far after 5 car shows, She has got 3 first place and 1 third place trophies :-)

Small video of my car at the track
10/2003 Finally got to the track and had a BLAST ! I did not make any speed records, but I did have one of the most fun intense adrenalin rushes I have ever had. For my first time I feel I did OK. I cut consistent 60 reaction times and ran a 9.00 sec. 1/8 mile at 87 MPH best. I built the car for street performance and show with a chance of an occasional drag. The tunnel ram with 2 Holley carbs was the biggest setback. A total DOG off the line. So the big pretty polished tunnel ram with the 2 Holley's, and the cool scoop might have to go. I think this car should do low 8s or better if I can just get some low end to launch.

New setup just in time for the last open day at the track. Holley dual plane Street Dominator with a 650Mighty Demon carb. She ran real sweet with the changes. Ran an 8.51 sec. in the 1/8 mile and now I think it might do mid to upper 7 sec. range if I can get more traction. All it wanted to do was fry the tires. HMMM damn now I need slicks.
2004 UPDATE
(March 04) New 5 inch cowl induction fiberglass hood from Glasstek, 26-11.50-15 M/T ET Streets slicks, 3.5 inch mild steel drive shaft with 1350 brute force u-joints, Moroso windage tray setup, Moroso valley baffle, sunk the fuel cell into trunk and detailed out the entire trunk. Polished the intake and had it powder coated clear, And a few more thing to make it perty. I sure have a lot of hours in it, but it has come a long way. Soon I will have the newest track times. Hoping to see 7s in the 1/8th and 12s in 1/4.

2005 UPDATE
Couple more items this year include exhaust cutouts, a set of 4:10 gears for the rear end, and a complete custom nitrous setup from nitrous express. My N02 setup is rather extensive with a lot of options and safety devices incorporated trying not to blow the motor apart. I can only run 100 HP shot safely with this motor but I am sure my future motor will handle more. I went threw a full bottle of nitrous just testing and setting up the system and let me say this stuff rocks. When it kicks in with just a 100 hp shot it puts you in the seat. Hopefully in 06 I get to take it to a track and play.
Next update for the car will be graphics. I have fallen in love with True Fire graphics and have decided this is what I want on my car. After researching and finding out it would cost about $2000 to have someone put true fire on my car I have decided to learn how to airbrush so I can do it myself. So in November 05 I started my quest of airbrushing true fire. My next update I will post my true fire adventure.
2006 UPDATE
After months and countless hours spent in the garage airbrushing everything I can find that dosent move, I finally got to lay the fire down on my car but not before putting fire on 3 harleys, 1 sport bike, and a 32 chevy coupe. Now that I have my car done for the summer I am going to continue my airbrush education.
The pictures give a good idea but in person it looks soooo much better.
