Charles Harrison “Butch” Hughes passed away May 4, 2012, at Coffey County Hospital in Burlington, Kansas. He was 63.
Butch was born November 11, 1948, in Chanute, Kansas, the son of Charles Harrison and Lorraine (Koening) Hughes
Butch and his family moved to Yates Center, Kansas from Garnett, Kansas in 1953. After the move Butch attended Yates Center Schools and graduated from Yates Center High School.
Hard work was important to Butch. He put his all into everything he did. He enjoyed helping anyone that he could and faithfully working for Gaulding Oil Company for nearly 40 years.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents,
He leaves one sister, Audra (Hughes) Winburn of Cheyenne, Oklahoma, and many other cousins, relatives and friends.
Services for Butch will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at the United Methodist Church in Yates Center. Burial will follow at Yates Center Cemetery.
The family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday at Campbell Funeral Home in Yates Center.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to the First United Methodist Church or “The Friends For Life,” and may be sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home P.O. Box 188, Yates Center, Kansas 66783.
