A band that has been around since 1997 and still rockin! They have had their fair share of line up changes as well as changing the name of the band from SPIV to S-FOIL in 2000. Then in 2003 they became one of a handful of selected artists to appear on a compilation cd for Fender records in association with Ocean Pacific clothing and Rhino Records. They have played venues all over the Midwest and have built a huge following, recorded 6 studio cds including some compilations and a live cd. Their musical influences include every good band you can think of because if it wasn't good we wouldn't be influenced by it. Right?

Fender taps S-Foil

Local rock trio S-Foil's irreverent brand of punk-inflected rock was recently tapped by Fender Records for a compilation album of new artists called "Ocean Pacific: Emerging Stars." The band consists of guitarist and singer Luke Murphy, bassist Scott Hunter and drummer Hot-Rod, who believe rock should be fun, not pretentious. Need proof? They've been known to write songs about Star Wars and Douglas Adams novels. "17 Minutes" is from S-Foil's 2002 album "Attack Position."
