Brace for Blast
Personnel

Craig Kletzing - Guitars & Vocals

Craig has been playing in rock bands for way too long. He has played all over the place including California, Alabama, New Hampshire, Germany, and now, Iowa where he has lived since 1996. In Iowa he has played in Hold My Llama which appeared at Gabes, the Q Bar, and Gunnerz in Iowa City as well as at Kurtz (now Bricks) in Cedar Rapids. After that Craig was in Absolute Zero and Bipolar which both played at Gabes in Iowa City, Randall's in Mt Vernon as well as at Alley Nine and The Rack in Anamosa. Craig plays a Gibson SG, Fender Strat, and - his favorite - a handmade Jacobs electric. For amplification he has a vintage '61 Fender Concert amp and uses a Digitech 2101 effects processor.

Proudhorn - Vocals

Proudhorn is an Iowa native who joined Bipolar in 2002. Shortly thereafter Bipolar transmogified into Brace for Blast. Proudhorn's early band experiences were with the Inverted Nipples and he has brought his wry wit to the songs of Brace for Blast. His disdain for crappy music and crappy employment fuels his need for singing and ripping on all that sucks in life. A man of many talents, Proudhorn is particulary well known for the "auality assurance" dance which he performs when really pumped up.

Aaron Troupe - Drums

Aaron "The Twizted One" was found by Craig and Jeanette wandering in the Mojave desert. They took him home where he thought he was finally free. Alas he found himself banished to the basement, forced to play drums for their amusement. He now beats on anything he can get his hands on at extreme decibel levels to drow out the voices in his head. Aaron really started playing in 5th grade and has been playing ever since in marching, Jazz and Pep bands. Now it's with the Brac for Blast crew. He also invented the internet with his good buddy, Al Gore.

Jeanette Welch - Bass & Vocals

Jeanette is a classically trained bassist who performs professionally in the area in such groups as the Cedar Rapids Symphony, the Dubuque Symphony, and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony. She finds playing in a rock band a nice counter balance. Previously she has played in Hold My Llama, Absolute Zero, and Bipolar with Craig. Jeanette plays a Fender Jazz Bass and a Pedulla five-string and on occasion, a fretless homemade hybrid bass. Her amp is AMP, with a Gallien Krueger 2X10 speaker and a 15" speaker. She also teaches both the electric and string bass at Kirkwood Community College and the Preucil School of Music.
