Dad has had to curtail some of his mowing and other activities because of a heart attack, stent placement and cardiac rehab. Later, he developed painful arthritis in the shoulder and hip. Cortisone helped the shoulder but not the hip so now a joint replacement is scheduled for Dec. 8. He and C.V. have taken Taylor and Tanner to several Morehead home football games. Mom, Gregory and Mickey entered ceramics and paintings in an art show in August. Danny came to spend a few days with us, but we kept him so busy, with the Danville get together, CV's birthday, dinner in Burlington, breakfast at Chaney's, the Vest Reunion and a trip to Guilford Battleground that he hardly had time to rest a minute. At the Battleground he found records of his 4th great grandfather Drury Holland who fought with General Green but not his 4th great grandfather John Vest. After returning home to GA, he sent them John Vests record in which he filed for his Revolutionary War pension. They accepted it as proof and sent Danny a nice "thank you" letter. So now, when you go to the Visitors Center there, you can read about two ancestors.
