Anno Domini MXMIV SettingBeing the World of Darkness, the chronicle's setting is not a true reflection of reality. It's darker, more claustrophobic, generally nastier. Population centers tend to be more dense, emphasizing the associated problems of crime, corruption, and overcrowding. What smaller communities exist tend to be more insular in both location and attitude. There is less encroachment on the remaining wilderness. People feel safer in the cities, they rarely leave them. Sports-related tourism is less prevalent, often replaced with a recent influx of gambling. Civic works suffer from neglect and soon share the fate of old ghost towns and mines. Outlying roads are rarely improved and are decaying, slowly being washed away. This wildness is both a boon and a curse for the Garou. It allows both them and their enemies a great degree of freedom from prying eyes. There are actually a few packs of wolves running wild in the mountains, but who knows what the multitude of abandoned mines hide?
