History of the Church

Bethany Church begun in late 1878 and a church building was built in 1897 in a wooden building about 27’ wide and 35” long. In 1892 a new building was built at the corner of Belle and Chandler. The church was called Rantoul Christian. In 1902 Bethany Church merged with the Rantoul Christian. In the 1950s the church began a plan for a new building. In 1956, the first section was built on the corner of East Grove and Maplewood on land left by the Youmans. By 1962 the whole building was finished.
