C H A P T E R 1 A man with brown hair and blue eyes in a orange flight suit. Walked up to a humongous machine. Another man walked up to the man in orange . '' Remember James, your mission is to find Aura and bring her back here.''

'' Anyone coming with me?'' James said

'' No, this is a solo mission. Also remember that we work in the dark, and nobody should know of our existence.''

'' Right, I'll contact you if anything changes.''

'' Good luck soldier.''

The man nodded at James. Then he walked back to the control room. James walked up to the machine, opened the door and stepped inside. James sat down in the cockpits seat, flipped, turned, and pressed a few switches and buttons, closed the door and buckled up. James flipped the visor down on his space helmet and pressed the launch button. Then the machine sprung into action, Rocking and swaying. James grabbed the control stick and kept it steady, trying not to get the machine off course. Then a few sparks shot out from the circuitry behind the control panel. James pulled a lever down and flipped some more switches, then there was a loud *THUMP* and then everything stopped. James unbuckled his seatbelt and opened the door C H A P T E R 2

James took off his space helmet and said in disgust.

'' What the hell?''

James stood before a vast wasteland surrounded by rock formations and forests. James took out a handgun from his suit, took aim and stepped out of the machine. James stopped and took out a scanner from his pocket and aimed it towards all directions, until a beeping sound emitted from the scanner, it was pointed towards the east.

'' Aura must be in there!''

James ran into the forest, ducking and jumping past branches and logs until he reached a cluster of large bugs. James, without hesitation, fired his gun at the bugs. They all slumped to the ground and then James felt a tingly feeling inside his body, James put his hands on his chest, then took out his scanner.

'' Computer, tell me my height.''

A voice came from the scanner.

'' You are now 6"7' sir.''

'' 6"7'! I was 6"5' the last time I checked! What the hell is going on!?''

James walked through the forest and started staggering. He felt a sensation he couldn't explain, he felt like he was going to vomit. Then the sensation stopped. James then walked into a clear part of the forest and there, floating above a bed in the center, was Aura. James pointed his gun at her and walked cautiously towards the bed, where Aura was floating in mid-air

'' What the hell? Uh, *ahem* my name is Lieutenant James Daly. I am here to rescue you. If you can hear me, please respond.

Just then a voice echoed out of nowhere, It was coming from Aura.

'' A meaningless effort.'' Aura said gently.

'' Listen Aura, I know what I am doing, I can get you out of here!''

'' Don't try to rescue me…It is pointless, besides I belong here. In Dot Hack.''

'' Dot Hack my ass! I'm getting you out of here! Alright, I'm coming up!''

James got onto the bed and stood up beside Aura. James was about to grab her when Aura said

'' Are you really the one?''

'' Wha-What are you talking about?''

'' Very well, it is decided.''

'' You're not deciding noting. Come on!''

James grabbed Aura. Then it seemed that all time had stopped, then a bright light engulfed James and Aura, then James whispered in shock

'' Ohhhh, shit.''

The light stopped glaring in James eyes and found himself back in the machine, only this time everything was rocking and swaying harder. James could hear the moaning of metal throughout the machine, suddenly a message popped up on the computer screen on the control panel.

INTUDER ALERT!!!!

INTRUDER ALERT!!!!

''WHAT!!!'' James shouted

Just then Aura ghosted through the floor and stood in front of James, She smiled sweetly and giggled

'' WHAT THE HELL-AHHHHHHH!!!!!''

James screamed as Aura dived into James body, then James felt something moving inside him and a warm feeling throughout his whole body. Then James heard a song….a lullaby from long ago…..

'' Come to me, my sweet little angel.'' '' Come to me, my little star.'' '' Come to bed and rest your head.'' '' Come to me, and go to sleep.''

James passed out and slumped onto the control panel.

C H A P T E R 3

James slowly opened his eyes to find himself in a room, laying on a bed. He looked at his hands and feat, they where tied to every post on the bed. Then a woman walked in, she looked a little tan with strange markings on her face. She stood on the left side of the bed bent down and said.

'' About time you woke up! Did you sleep well?''

'' Yes. Why are my hands and feat tied up to the bed?''

'' Because, you kidnapped Aura.''

'' WHAT! That's bullshit! I didn't kidnap her!''

A boy with silver hair and a staff walked in, he walked quickly to the other side of the bed. Then he punched James in the stomach and said angrily

'' Where's Aura…..WHERE!!!!''

'' I-*cough*-I don't know! I was back in my transport when she appeared and went into my body!''

'' You're lying!'' the boy said

'' Who the hell are you?''

'' I'm Tsukasa.''

'' And I'm Mimiru.'' The woman said

'' It dosent matter now, I will make you never see the light of day again!!!''

'' Stop!.....That's enough.''

A girl with teal hair walked into the room, She had a strange marking on her forehead and was kind of dressed like an angel. James looked at her strangely, then said '' Who are you?''

'' I am Subaru, you shall now stay silent and answer all my questions.''

'' Hmph! Fuck you! I'm not going to an-.''

'' Silence…''

Subaru gently put her staff on James mouth, then Subaru asked again.

'' Who are you?''

'' James Daly.''

'' Okay, James where do you come from?''

'' I just got here, I'm from Tampa, Florida.''

'' So this is your first…..Alright, let me ask you this one last time…Where's Aura.''

James lay silent then Tsukasa walked up and yelled '' WHERE'S AURA!!!!!'' Then James spoke, only this time Auras voice replaced James and said gently

'' In me…..''

James then shot upward, breaking the ropes. James slowly floated up to the ceiling, and just stayed there, half asleep and half awake. Tsukasa staggered backwards and looked up in fear. '' Who the hell are you?'' James spoke in Auras voice again, only this time it was really Aura.

'' It's me…Aura.''

'' N-no, no way.''

Aura spoke again '' I have inhabited this man's body, I have chosen the one who will wield my power. I have chosen…..

my prisoner.''

C H A P T E R 4

James fell back down onto the bed and sat up screaming, James looked around and then looked at Subaru, she had a surprised look on her face. James eyes started glowing, he grabbed Subaru by her sholders and whispered

'' What's happening to me….''

James paused and heard the lullaby again, James then passed out, fell out of the bed and onto the floor.

C H A P T E R 5

'' So the legend is true.'' Subaru said

'' But that's impossible! How could she have chosen him. That disgusting man in the flight suit…. I totally despise-.''

'' Silence, Ginkan. I think he was chosen for special reasons. But the question is '' why?''

Ginkan and Subaru were standing on a boat sailing slowly down a canal in a city called Mac Anu, Subaru turned her back towards Ginkan then she said '' I would like to find out myself.'' Ginkan took a step forward and said

'' But milady! You don't know what he's capable of! Doctors say that he grew to level 30 in one hour, while he was asleep! His exp, stamina, growth, luck, energy, HP and MP are increasing by the minute! Have you lost your-.''

'' Quiet! That's enough! As captain, my duty is to ensure that all criminals or new players are questioned when coming into this world. And I don't need any concerns or suggestions, is that clear?''

''……Yes, milady.''

'' I shall accompany him to dinner, I will question him there.''

James was sitting in a chair in the bedroom, Mimiru was sitting across from him, both where silent and deep in thought until Mimiru broke the ice

'' So….Uh, you came from Tampa, Florida, right? Is it nice there?''

'' Uh, yeah….I, work at Mcdill air force base.''

'' You do? So what brings you here to the world.''

'' I was on a mission to rescue Aura.''

'' Oh, I thought you kidnapped her. But you didn't, uh, heh, heh,''

'' Um, yeah, had you fooled, Ha, ha.''

Mimiru looked away and stared out the window.

'' Have you ever heard of, '' the prisoner of Aura''?''

James had a confused look on his face '' No.''

'' Well, legend has it, that one day a man will come and try to rescue '' the one who sleeps''. But instead of rescuing her, Aura will fuse with the man, and wield her power.''

Then she turned her head towards James '' That man happens to be you.''

James looked at her surprisingly, then Subaru walked in. She nodded at Mimiru then looked at James.

'' James, may I have a word with you.''

'' Uh, sure.'' He walked out with Subaru. James stepped out to a beautiful city, surrounded by waterways, bridges and buildings. James looked in amazement and said '' What is this place?''

'' Mac Anu.'' Subaru said.

The music and scenery were almost enchanting. James took a step forward, then a voice echoed through his head…It was Aura

'' Such pretty music.''

James put his hand on his forehead and took a step backward, Subaru looked at him and said '' Hey, are you alright?'' '' Yeah…I…I'm fine.''

'' Will you accompany me to dinner?''

'' Uh, yeah…''

Subaru and James walked through streets and over bridges taking a tour of some of the town. Until they reached the local restaurant, they both took a seat at a table on the patio outside, a waiter came up and took their orders.

'' What can I get for you.''

James sat back in his seat and ran his hand through his hair '' Uhhh, I'll have a beer.''

'' Ha, ha, ha, ha! If you want a beer than you better go to the pub. Here, we serve wine.''

'' Then…I'll have a glass of water.''

'' I'll have a glass of water also.'' Subaru said

'' Alright, I'll be out with your drinks in a moment.''

The waiter walked quickly back into the building, Subaru looked at James curiously and said. '' Tell me more about yourself, fellow traveler.''

'' I was a CIA agent, then I retired and moved to the army, worked my way up to lieutenant, then the government was working on a project to send one man into the actual '' world ''.''

'' Oh….can you tell me about the machine?''

'' It's highly classified information but I can tell you that it runs on magnetic electricity.''

'' Interesting….how did Aura get inside your body?''

'' I….well….It's hard to explain….all I know was-.''

'' AHHHHHH!''

'' Did you hear that!?''

'' No…why?''

'' It sounds like Mimiru, I've gotta go!''

James jumped off the patio and ran through the streets. The only difference was that he seemed faster than usual. He ran until his palms sweat. James got back to the Inn only to find Mimiru captured by a humongous man all decked out in armor. He turned around with Mimiru over his shoulder, the man smiled and said

'' And you must be the prisoner. But it turned out to be a skinny little man in a flight suit!''

James took out his gun and aimed it at the man '' Identify yourself! Why do you have Mimiru captured?''

'' I am Quanzan, I have come here to give you a test of strength.''

'' Don't make this too hard on yourself. Put the woman down and you can come quietly…or you can have it the hard way, that means I'll have to blow your head off.''

'' PUT ME DOWN YOU BIG….JERK!!!!!'' Mimiru shouted

'' Come and catch me, HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!''

Quanzan broke into a run. James followed, hot on his heels. James jumped up into the air, trying to grab Mimiru. But failed, James landed back on the ground and resumed running. They both continued running until they reached a canal, Quanzan spun around, grabbed James and threw him up into the air.

'' See you later! HAHAHAHA!''

James screamed as he was falling. He was going to fall straight into the canal! James closed his eyes and awaited impact….but there was no impact. James opened his eyes to find himself standing on the water.

'' No way….no way in hell!''

He looked at his feet, then his body. James smiled and started running. Unfortunately, Quanzan wasn't far behind. James got up alongside him and jumped back onto the street. He jumped again and grabbed Mimiru. He set her down on the street, James looked at her and said

'' Go get the others and say that I need help. Okay?''

Mimiru blushed and stared at him for a moment, then she nodded at him, got up, and started running back towards the Inn. James continued running after Quanzan James got up behind him, took out his gun and shot Quanzan's leg. He fell on the ground and screamed in pain. James knelt down beside him and handcuffed him.

'' Felt that you were all big and bad, huh? But now I got your ass, you son of a bitch!''

Quanzan moaned and hit his head against the ground. Subaru came running up behind James with several soldiers, the soldiers picked up Quanzan and took him away. Subaru walked up to James.

'' So, do you believe now? About being the ''prisoner''?''

James looked around and said '' Uh, yeah…I…I believe.'' C H A P T E R 6

James tossed and turned on the bed. Then he woke up, James thought for a moment, and then he got up and put on his flight suit. He took all his belongings and stepped outside the Inn. James looked up at the inky black sky, James took a boat from the dock and sailed off into the canal and onto the sea.

* I have too look deeper into the matter, about being the ''prisoner''…..My adventure has only just begun, and It's about to get more intense!* *********************************************************************************
