Here are just some of the things people had to say about

AJACS 4th Annual Campout Event Cache (2008)

<AJACS 2007 logo>

"WOW!!! Do we need to say more? What a great area for a caching event. It was like looking up at a miniature Yosemite. The wild flowers were beautiful. The staff running the event were so friendly and organized. (Even when we were leaving late on Sunday the staff was still smiling.) The food was delicious. The schedule was right on time. The prizes were wonderful. The caches were fun to find. We were impressed to see Sprocket take time to hug and thank each member of his family for the help. Sprocket even took time to come over and thank his Mom before starting the Prize Drawings. What a great leader for this event. All the staff of the A.J.A.C.S are all great leaders and examples for the rest of us. It is a pleasure to know each one of them. The amount of time spent organizing and running such a huge event like this must have been tremendous!" ... "We are very appreciative to all those that helped with the event! It was well worth our time. We can’t believe in the last four years how the numbers of those attending has grown. Hopefully this event will continue for many years. Thanks for everything, The 4 Wheel Tacos --- 4 WHEEL TACO

"What a wonderful trip. We had loads of fun. We will be back next year . Thanks to EVERYONE who made this such a great time. This was alot of work and ya'll did great. Just wish we didn't have to kill the snakes. We made lots of new friends and what treat to be next to Team Loki and C&K the desert dwellers."                       --- Team Piggin Out

"Yes, Mr. Sprocket, you ROCK as the event host!!!!!!!and EVERYBODY that helps out is fantastic!!! I was sad to hear the AJJR and his wife were going to be retiring from helping out with the event next year.... guess that gives them a chance to enjoy the event that much more though! just as we will!!!! can't WAIT till next year!!!! Thanks for everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"                                                                                                        --- azjammin

"Event Well Done; Thank You; We had a GREAT time. No complaints from us."                     --- Scrawlinn

"Thank you so much for a wonderful time. I have nothing to compare it to, as it was my first event, but I can say that it was a hoot!!!!! I enjoyed meeting fellow cachers, what a bunch of interesting people. And all of you that made the arrangement did an outstanding job. I definately will be watching for more events that I can attend. Now that the ice is broken, look out!!!"                                                                                                                --- MaLoki

"This was the first time that my fourteen year old and I had the opportunity to camp out together, so for that reason, this event will mean more to us than just an "event". We had a great time, as I knew we would, hiking more than I thought possible! We didn't do the skills challenge because we wanted to grab as many caches as my Pacifica would let me(14 unpublished, 5 published). The selflessness that the whole crew has was amazing! We appreciate all that you've done and we will see you next year!"                                                                      --- Just hike

"Susy&Paul and Goofers and Mickey had a wonderful time we met some people that helped us learn and want to grow our skills. Thanks for Team Digital times 3 with the skills challenge. We have determined that we are skillless, but worked well together. The food and the whole set up was so fabulous. So well orgainzed like you have been doing this for years, thanks AJACS and cooks. Thanks so much for making us Newby's feel welcome."      --- Goofersx3

"How can you improve on something that's perfect? Just ask the A.J.A.C.S. Team! What a fabulous and efficient job of making FUN for us! The events, the food, the facility .... all just great! Thanks SO much .... I can't wait to see what rabbit comes out of the hat next year!"                                                                           --- Bucky & McGee

"High Five to all the A.J.A.C.S. team. Another Fabulous event. This was my favorite campout spot for the event so far. I enjoyed the scenery and the hiking was FABULOUS. Another great weekend has come and gone. Good to put faces with other team names and meeting new and old friends. TFTC."                                        --- Az Bren

"Many thanks to the A.J.A.C.S. crew for putting this event on. This was my 2nd A.J.A.C.S. campout and I already can't wait for next year. "                                                                                                      --- TeamBarstool

"Many thanks to Sprocket and the entire A.J.A.C.S. Team for putting on yet another fun and well-organized caching event. The area was beautiful, the food and prizes were excellent and it made for a great weekend experience for me and my kids, who are already looking forward to doing this again next year!"                         --- AZTech

"We will be waiting to see what next year's AJACS brings. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks to all involved in making this another successful event. This indeed took a lot of time and work to prepare."                      --- Team Bugmann

"This was our first A.J.A.C.S. event and we really enjoyed it. A special message to Cheyenne T.A.G.D., who seems to run things at the event: "Bark, woof, woof, arf!" ;-)" ... "To all who work on this thing, "Thank you, thank you." The events were well-organized and there were a lot of options to chose among."... "The crew certainly fed us all well--and we were hungry after all that caching. Thanks for holding to your schedule, that takes a lot of organization to pull off.  The A.J.A.C.S. staff provided enough variety that there was something for everybody, and the efforts they went through to get prizes for everybody was commendable. Special effort was made to ensure that no youngster was excluded, and that was not unnoticed."                                                                            --- Team Nine Lives

"4th annual event and our 3rd to attend. We can only say they get better every year. Great meeting old friends and making new ones. Great prizes, great food and a great (LOG)book. Signed log, played poker, found new caches, stayed Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and came home Sunday. A great get away with lots of nice people. Thumbs up to the team that did all the work to make this great event possible. "                                      --- Roark&Dallas

"Excellent Job to all the A.J.A.C.S. crew ! Sprocket you did an amazing job of getting this all together, AJ & Nancy you two are really awesome because whatever you do, it is done exceedingly well!"..."The campout location was gorgeous and I really hope that we can be there again next year. The food was great as always and with everything going well, we can honestly say that we will be back again next year, of that you can bet."                      --- D.A.D.

"Thanks to the entire A.J.A.C.S team for a well organized weekend! This was our first A.J.A.C.S campout and we had a lot of fun, EVERYTHING was perfect, well, except Don's rule on drinking, but on a lighter note, Chuck remembers the entire Event and woke up without a hangover. We had a great time visiting with friends and as Team Loki mentioned in their log, we already have our next campout planned.
This was one Event we will definitely attend again."                                                          --- C&K desert dwellers

"Thanks to the entire AJACS team for another well organized, fun filled weekend! This was our second AJACS campout and I have to say, you out did yourselves. From the frequent e-mail updates, to the on site registration, to the outstanding set up of the skills challenge (which is one of our favorite activities); everything was outstanding!"
                                                                                                                                     --- Team Loki

They did a great job with everything!  We got to meet lot's of nice people and enjoy the wonderful location."                                         --- Digital Times 3

"We would like to thank the AJACS crew for putting on such events. This is the part of Geocaching that we enjoy the most. Every year we are made to feel like part of the family and we so do appreciate it. It means a lot to us. We don't drive all that way just to camp in the desert. It is to see you folks. "                                     --- Flag_Mtn_Hkrs

"Had a great time! This was my first campout event. I put a lot of faces with a lot of names. Thanks to Sprocket and the rest of the AJACS members for a great weekend. "                                                         --- azsonburnt

"Wow. What else can I say. I've been waiting since AJACS #3 for this weekend and I wasn't disappointed." ... "Many thanks to the organizers for putting this event on. You couldn't have chosen a more beautiful location or have planned on a more 'yellow' scene. Between the planned events, and impromptu gatherings afterwards, there was something for everyone."                                                                                                                     --- LazyK

"Sprocket, his family, friends and Team AJACS did a fabulous job. We hope the event will be at the same location again next year. Many Thanks to everyone that helped with the food and clean-up. We got lots of exercise finding all the well placed caches. Thanks again"                                                                               --- fireman1968

"Sprocket, your family and friend workers, AJACS, all of you just continue to outdo yourselves and put on the BEST EVENT ever.  Outstanding caches on the poker run and especially on the Skill Challenge. One fun day from the time we were so happily greeted at the registration until our final farewells."                                     --- fsrvers

"We don't attend that many caching events. This is our second visit to this one. What we like about it most is that you get to both cache and socialize. We had a great time. Many, many sincere thanks to the A.J.A.C.S. crew!"
                                                                                                                                --- Arizona Ranger Crew

"We just got back from this event, and we had a great time. This was our first time attending, and everyone in the family agreed that this will have to be an annual tradition for us. The location was so nice and the hunt for the log book was a blast. Thank you for hosting this and for all the hard work in making it happen. "    --- Harley05

..."as usual everything was super.....especially this evening's dinner.... Nancy, Jr, Tim, Kathy, and whoever worked on the cooking and food preparation really out did their selves (it was sooooo very good)...We thank YOU ALL very much!!" ... "Thanks Scott and your crew for all the work on putting this event together. "Spent the day Friday at this event. Not many cachers here at the time, but spent some quality time chatting and just hanging out." ... "Anyways, thanks to all the AJACS clan for putting on this event. Definetly the best event cache I attend each year. I wish I could have spent more time there."                                               --- ropingthewind

"I cannot imagine a caching event anywhere in the world that could be any better. Thanks so much for all the time and effort, is very much appreciated."    --- Raptar

We also liked the "modern conveniences" of this venue compared to years past. Three cheers for AJACS! We look forward to next year with quivering anticipation."                                           --- JohnnyCacheAz

"Thanks to Sprocket, AJ.JR, Flatiron, and all of the support staff for a very fun and well organized event. I have much appreciation for all the hard work and care that the staff and other contributers put into this event." "It was a pleasure to greet, meet, and chat with others at dinner and around the campfire. What a treat it was to see a glowing scorpion, play with glow sticks, roast marshmallows, listen to guitar songs, enjoy chocolate & quality beverages, and watch rockets soar, all in one evening! I was so dizzy with happiness..."  "...I drifted off to sleep as the distal chorus of howling coyotes crescendoed with the cackling, stomping, clapping, and "Woo-hoo-ing" of other animal behavior coming from the campfire. After a fabulous breakfast, I toured the Team Scrawlinn mobile and sought out the log book. Looking forward to next years' camp-out event."      --- AZgeckogirl

"We can't even imagine how A.J.A.C.S. could possibly pull this event off again--plus even more this year. The new caches, the cooking of food for umpteen attendees, the loo, the wood, the fire, the awards and prizes for young and old. We know that A.J.A.C.S. spent many hours in the field weeks prior to the event date to pull this off!! Our hats go off to Sprocket (Scott and Virginia) and extended family, AJ.JR (JR and Nancy), and Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler (Pat and Karen)! A wonderful evening was spent with friends around the camp fire. We loved the music provided by AZcachemeister." ... "The Campout Event T-shirts with new logo designs are super. Another bonus was the A.J.A.C.S. patches that Sprocket's mother made on her sewing machine. Well done!! Gil was in disbelief as she did the Cache Challenge on Sunday. Wow! This was extremely well done. The thought and effort to set up this course was beyond compare. She was so sad to think it all was removed when the weekend was over. Heavens we could not ask for more!  Next year even more cachers will attend as the word goes out across the land about this fabulous weekend."      --- Cog&Gil

"FABULOUS EVENT! This was the first like this I've attended and I don't see how it could get any better. I appreciate the HUGE amount of time, effort and $ you all put into this! Everything about it was great. I especially liked the skills event - very clever and fun - wish more people had tried it. Loved meeting lots of nice people and getting to know others better. The site was great, maybe even enhanced by the rain. Food abundant and yummy. Huge # of nice prizes. I learned a lot too. Will definitely attend again and encourage others. Thank You!!!"      --- tugies

"Wow!! This was our first time to come to this event, and we certainly enjoyed it."    "Thanks so much to all the committee. It was so well organized, the food was great, and it will be nice to have faces to put with some names in logs now."      --- Mile Hi Travelers

"wow! What an event! I want to say thanks to Shadowace, who I met the first time last week, for taking me to this event. It was an unique experience to camp in the desert with so many equal minded people. It was one big happy family It was so well organized and actually I didn´t find so much caches. It was more fun to hang out with everybody in the campsite."      --- zwemmer

[Editors note: zwemmer was our first "international" event participant, all the way from Holland]

"What can we say? This was just the best. Cooperating weather, yummy food, great cache challenges, good prizes, fun people, wonderful fireside entertainment on Saturday night. If you missed this you should be very sad. Everyone was having a great time. We're sure we'll be back next year for more caching. Something to really look forward to. Thanks Apache Junction Area Caching Society (that should cover all of you). It took a lot of time and effort to put this on. If you missed that challenge you really missed some good cache ideas. See everyone next year. Thanks."      --- Team Bugmann

"Wow! What a blast!! This was our second A.J.A.C.S. Campout event and we are already looking forward to next year's!"   "The event Hosts out did themselves once again! They are so organized and have thought of everything! They make this event a great time for both teams of adults and family teams. No one gets left out!  Thank you so much Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR and Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler!! You are all wonderful and we are thankful to have added you to our ever growing list of caching friends."      --- Az Cactus Jumpers

"Much thanks to everyone who made this event possible! It took a lot of work to bring all the pieces together. Obviously, many thanks goes to the cooks for two great meals, but even more thanks to those who put the multi caches together. I can only imagine how much time and effort it took to not only place the stages, but also to dig in severial stages of the team challenge. anyone who has dug a hole in the desert can appreciate the work that alone took."   "We hope to be able to attend again next year."      --- Team_Loki

"We had a great time over the course of Friday evening through Sunday with a wonderful sprinkling of friendship, stories and laughing. Most of the time we simply remained near camp to visit with those who popped in and out, but Saturday afternoon we finally opted to break down and get some caches. Food was amazing, Prizes were given and kids squealed with joy. Adults and children were fed and then Saturday evening we were joined by some great friends who opted for a night hike with us."    "Then sat around the fire until 2am visiting with any and all who happened by."    "Sunday we had a wonderful breakfast then even more visiting?? Oh me oh my.. "The secret password is [rosebud]"      --- Sprocket1980

<>"Wowie!!! I thought last year was a blast - and was convinced I had to be there on Friday night. My co-worker thought I was nuts, my neighbors questioned my judgment and I figured I was certifiable in driving down on a dark and rainy night. I ended up crawling into camp around 2300 and thanks to the Shadowace crew I had a tent ready and help getting set up. It really did pour that night causing some of the "roads" to look more like rivers from the glow of a light stick. The morning came and the weather changed and what an amazing weekend."   "I got to catch up with my close hiking companions, see many friends I have not seen in a while and make a few new friends as well! Not to mention the late night entertainment around the fire on Sat night. For those of you who did the challenge - you know just how truly cool that was. I didn't start it until Sunday and was thankful I went.  This is my favorite Event as it is so well organized and brings some of the best folks in the area. You really do get the opportunity to really socialize with so many cachers. I thank you all for all the hard work and planning that you do to make this a must attend on my list. I realize I have no idea just how much you all put into this Event - I just really had a blast."                                                                                                                                                                                            --- FeetFirst

"We were able to arrive around 6:00 p.m. on Friday. We set up camp and then headed down to register. Everyone was so friendly. We did not hear one negative thing from anyone the whole weekend. Even after not finding "What's The Buzz" everyone was in such a positive mood. Even after the rain Friday night, no negative attitude. Even after the chef's cooked all of that food and slaved over all of the hot stoves. What a great group of people to hang around with for the weekend. This is the first time we were able to spend the whole weekend. It was really alot of fun. Everything was organized so perfect! The food was so delicious and no one should have went away hungry!!! AJACS teams were probably so wore out after this event they will probably go home and sleep for a month. There was so much planning and organizing that was put into this event."   "GREAT JOB! The whole event was a success!!! AJACS must have had some pull with the weather people upstairs, because we could not have had any better weather."   " The new caches were great! Next year our team will have to do the challenge, we hear it was the greatest! Thanks for everything AJACS!!! You guys are all the best!!!!"      --- The 4 Wheel Tacos - Morris and Suzy Taylor

"What a great event, glad I decided to go."   " Saturday was great as tugies was there by herself so we teamed up to catch some caches in the areatoo many caches, not enough time [L]. The dinner was great with no one going away hungry and a quick run to do another 3 caches before sitting around the fire for a while.  Decided to go ahead and stay the night and a wonderful breakfast was had by all remaining cachers Sunday morning. After breakfast, Team Bugmann, tugies, feetfirst and I decided to do the challenge course with Susie of Cog&Gil supervising. What fun and neat things we had to accomplish and we all survived, no one had to be voted off! If you did not do this challenge, you missed out on great fun and excitement, hopefully they will have another one next year.  This was my first non-restaurant event and I got to see folks I had met in the past, meet new folks and finally got to put faces with names. I am planning on and look forward to attending next years event!!!  Thank you to all of the AJACS group for the fantastic job they did on this event and the creative and challenging tasks for us to do. I have attended many other events (ballooning), the organization for this was better than a lot of them. It was obvious the amount of time and planning you have done for this event, what great folks!! I appreciate all that you did and for your generosity!!!!!!!"      --- Team2002

"WOW...DOUBLE WOW! What can I possibly say that others haven't already about this SUPER event?"   ". The A.J.A.C.S team has once again outdone themselves! Besides all of the terrific socializing and fine food, my highlight was the Team Challenge done with WeC*M and Pesinapod. That was more fun than I can remember in my Geocaching experiences, and I know that a lot of thought, work, and expense went into this. My wild safari ride with Shadow Ace and company to Desert Noasis and End of the Middle was another memorable experience. How about my first ever night caching experience for the Poker Run with AZCelts? And last but not least, Sunday out with Team KG&B for some area caches, only to meet up with the 4WheelTacos and Taylors Tomb Raiders for some more laughs. Thank you so much A.J.A.C.S for bringing us all together for SO MUCH FUN!!!"      --- Bucky & McGee

"The A.J.A.C.S. 3rd Annual event cache was great. Thank you to the entire Sprocket team, AJ.JR team, Flat Iron and Mrs. Wrangler, plus any other helpers that made the event possible. We had a fantastic time. Good friends, good food, fun for all ages. Looking forward to the 4th annual."      --- PANDA77

Here's what people had to say about

AJACS 2nd Annual Campout Event Cache (2006)

<AJACS 2006 logo>

"Thank you to all the AJACS Team members, your team was well prepared and offered so much enjoyment for Thunder-4 and myself. We are still talking about all the great caches and neat people we met. The "gas" prize was a hoot! Your team thought of everything. Awesome event and we are ready for next year. Thanks again to all you and all your volunteers for showing the dedication to the funnest camp out ever."      --- NewDawn

"I HAD A GREAT TIME...!!!! just like last year! We arrived and were set up by noon on Friday, found several caches on Saturday, enjoyed the dinner and socializing afterwards, and then enjoyed a great breakfast on Sunday! Finished packing up as the rain began, and headed home! Can't wait til next year... we might have to take Thursday off work too to get the FTF!!!!!"      --- azjammin

"This was an EVENT to remember! Thanks to the AJACS team the fun just kept coming all through the day! We were only able to attend on Saturday!! Very imaginative cache hides and we met new cachers on the trail. Nancy of Team AJ.JR always greets us with a smile and a hug... "   " Thanks again Team Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler, Orygun Connie, Team AJ.JR and Team Sprocket for all your hard work. We are looking forward to next year's event."      --- Cog&Gil

"Went out on Friday morning. Made camp and then hunted the multi cache of important points of the campout in 6 different locations ending with the log book. In the afternoon we found our poker hand, one card at a time. Then Saturday we went out and found 9 out of 14 brand new caches put out special for the event. Then a great dinner and breakfast. The time and imagination of the people putting on this event is amazing. What can we say, Thank you we will try to make this a yearly event. You are the best."      --- Roark&Dallas

"What a great camping event and luckily the weather held out. Great company, great food and lots of fun. Thanks to all who worked so very hard (I could tell it was a lot of WORK). Very well organized from new hidden caches, logbook, prizes, food and everything. Adults, kids, and animals were all having fun. Look forward to another one. Thanks again."      --- Team Bugmann

"We had a great time meeting with everyone. It was a great escape from the busy city life and wonderful to put a face to many "caching names" that we have longed to meet for a few months. Thanks for all the hard work from Sprocket and everyone who worked so hard to make this event possible. Kudos to you all... we had a blast and scored about 24 caches by the time we left. See you next year!"                                                                                                                                                                                                              --- AZ Bren

"Thanks again to all the organizers for inviting us to your party. A wonderful time as usual."      --- golefts

"I had a great time! Glad I decided to come."      --- Itasca81

"We could only make it out for the afternoon, but had a blast. So many friendly people and the food was great! The weather held and the campfire took off the chill. Everyone who organized this deserves fantastic praises. A great experience and we can't wait until next year!"      --- TNTnAZ

"Great event! Had a good time talking with new cachers and old alike. Sorry we missed last year. Will definately try again for next year. In addition to eating and socializing, we managed to fit in a few caches, even though we weren't able to stay the night. See everyone again next year!"      --- Tamo's Clan'Destiny

"If you're still reading this, good for you!!  I hope you're not getting tired... there's lots more, you know!"      --- Sprocket1980

"Thank you to A.J.A.C.S. for another outstanding event. Due to family commitments I was only able to attend Saturday afternoon. This was still worth the drive. Met some new cachers, said hello to some I had the pleasure of meeting in the past, and even found the worst poker hand in existence. The dinner and log book hunt were great as well."    " Even won a ready to go cache ammo can. Again, thank you, I couldnt think of a better way to spend a spring Saturday."      --- AzCelts

"Whoo Hoo!!!! This was my #200 Cache and what a great time it was! I was on call on Friday and could not join you despite Shadow Ace threatening to throw me in the van, but I made it out on Saturday and camped overnight (Thanks to my caching friends that helped provide my lodging). I will plan to make the Whole Event next year! This was so much fun and a great way to meet other cachers and just enjoy each other's company. The site was most excellent as both tent and travel trailers made it to the site and the food was great too! The bonfire at night was so inviting and I hated to go to bed when there were so many cool folks I could be talking to. I especially enjoyed the Poker Run (had a horrid hand BTW) and took that massive container of Jelly Beans that I won to work and watched my coworkers get sugar buzzed. Thanks for making this such a wonderful Event!"      --- FeetFirst

"Congrats AJACS for a very successful outing and thanks for all your work."      --- tskeptik

"Thanks for all the hard work the event was a blast!"      --- 4wheelingmirage

"WOW! Now that was a class act event! I must say that for the time I spent on the trek from San Diego to the event and back home, it was well worth it! It was one of the best weekends I've had in quite a while!"   "On the drive back to Phoenix with NewDawn, we were talking about how well this event was organized and how much effort was put into everything. It just blew our minds. Hats off to Team Sprocket, Flatiron & Mrs. Wrangler, Orygun Connie and Team AJ.JR and to anyone else that had anything to do with this event. THANK YOU!"      --- Thunder-4

"What a wonderful event.. Many kind words have already been spoken, but I feel the need to add my own as well. We arrived Friday evening and found many people already here, so we located a spot near friends and pulled out the camping gear. We had been hearing on the news about the storm that was supposed to roll in and I was slightly nervous about the weather, but the AJACS seemed to have been in with the power control system as we had awesome weather the entire time."    "Drayman and I had a great time sitting by the fire until late in the night both nights. The whole fam damily enjoyed the weekend, but saddly sunday came too soon and we watched all the tents roll up and cars head out."   "Once more we have plenty of great memories to add to the caching list. You are so great to us..."      --- ShadowAce

"What fun! Unfortunately, could only attend for Saturday afternoon, but it was long enough to participate in a couple events, find some caches and meet some cachers. Thanks to all the organizers for, well...organizing this event. When I told some of the organizers how great a job they did, with the events and ESPECIALLY the food, the comment was made 'Aw, shucks. Anyone could do it.' But that's just it. Anyone 'could' do it, but y'all 'did' it. And that's what makes the difference. And thanks for doing it!"      --- LazyK

"AZgeckogirl and I arrived a bit later than planned, but we did make and signed yer stinkin' logbook at 1917 Hrs. We got there just in time for the prize giveaway and got to witness a gregarious gathering of Geocachers! Of course we weren't eligible for any prizes, but seeing such a large group of 'cachers out in the desert was prize enough for us!"      --- AZcachemeister

"Had a great time - first event for CowSpot Jr. V. 2.0 ! Superb location, as always."   "Thanks again for putting it on."      --- Cow Spots

"What an awsome event cache! Once again, this is one of my favorite event caches to attend!"   " Once again, the Apache Junction Area Caching Society clan put on a spectacular event cache. I know there must be a tremendous amount of work that goes into putting this one together! Thanks to the AJACS for providing us with an excellent and well run event!"   "The dinner was great too! The AJACS ladies were great hosts and servers! Excellent sloppy joe sandwiches and the beans and side dish was great too! Yum!"   "A great afternoon of geocaching and chatting with fellow cachers. I look forward to the next one..."    " Thanks again AJACS for an excellent event cache! Well organized!"      --- Team Ropingthewind

"WOW! If you missed this one, I'm truly sorry. This was the most fun caching experience I have ever had! Unbelievable organization, great location, fantastic food, too many prizes to count, great turnout, and I could go on and on. I only scored 9 cache points, because I was so busy meeting and socializing with all of the attendees. I laughed until my gut hurt. I won the Poker Run, so that was satisfying. Also, for Orygun Connie & me to beat Snowbird and Mountain Goat to Mrs. Wrangler's cache was priceless. Super thanks to all of the AJACS gang and their families for a wonderful time!!"      --- Bucky & McGee

"The most incredible event I have ever attended. First class all the way. Thanks everyone who set up and attended for making it unforgetable."      --- Raptar

"Killer Event!! Got to meet everybody that I know but never met. Thanx for giving all of us such a good time. And the food.....need I say more?!!!THANX FOR THE CACHE!!!!"      --- Team D-Roach

"Had a GREAT time, Sprocket and all his co-helpers did a supurbe job. If you missed this event, You missed a good one.A special thanks to ORYGUN Connie for making me feel so welcome and Raptor for letting me tag along with him on the days caches and teaching me a few finer points of caching with my GPS."      --- Itasca81

"Thanks to all of the A.J.A.C.S group for the fantastic time and organization. Last year was great, and this year was even greater. You all out did yourselves (as usual)."      --- Snobird & Mountain Goat

"That was a lot of fun!"   "Thanks for holding this event - I really enjoyed it."      --- Sonorion

"What a truly wonderful experience this was."   "...we will definately be at next year's gathering."   "... we had a wonderful time and wish to thank the organizers for a wonderful event!"      --- tucson twosome

"Another great event put on the AJACS. We were only able to attend for a few hours this year but we are already making plans to attend next years event."   " TFAnotherGreatEvent."      --- Taylor's Tomb Raiders

"This was our 2nd year to attend the Annual Event....guess that makes us 2 for 2. Had a great time reconnecting with many familiar faces, as well as meeting a few new folks. Weather was perfect, hiking was nice, and the caching was fun. Kudos to the hosts who did an excellent job of organizing and running the event. Took memories, left stories, and signed log at creative event log (wonder what next year's will be?!). Thanks for the great time."      --- Team AvArt

"What an AWESOME event! Well planned and managed, great food and even better company. I brought Both of my Mini-cachers and we all had a GREAT time."   "Thanks again AJACS for this second of what I hope will be a never-ending annual event. T-Happy memmories, L-a little piece of my soul"      --- ®ioexxo

"Had to miss the event last year but I told myself that I had to make it to this one and I'm real glad that I did."   "Thanks to JR from the Shadowace team for trading the AJACS patch she won with the bumper sticker I won so I could sew the patch onto the next quilt we make. Thanks to all who put this on I had a real good time."   "See you all next year."      --- We C*M

"The Peas had a great time this weekend at the grand event. We would like to thank the team that put it all together and that worked so hard throughout the days to keep it all running. We very much appreciate your efforts. It was fun to get to spend hours by the fire talking with fellow devotees. We can't wait for the next one."      --- Peasinapod

"Had an awesome time and really enjoyed meeting fellow Geocachers. This was one of the best times we've had camping."   "We will be sure to attend future events. Thanks for everything."      --- TKW 98

"This was the first Geocaching event we have ever attended. What a blast!! Very well organized. Met a lot of new people."   "Had a great time . A big thanks to Team Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler, Team AJ.JR and Team Sprocket for all your hard work. Thanks to Orygun Connie for her help also. Thanks for all the fun! We are looking forward to next year's event."      --- Az Cactus Jumpers

And finally, here are some comments from our first event,

The Cochran Campout Event Cache (2005)

<geocaching.com logo>

"By all accounts, the Cochran Campout Event Cache was a resounding success. I want to thank my co-hosts, Teams AJ.JR (JR & Nancy), and Flatiron (Pat) & Mrs. Wrangler (Karen) for all they did to make this event possible. I also want to thank all of those who attended. Without all of you, it would have just been the five of us staring at each other around a campfire. And since none of us really like each other all that much, it might have gotten ugly. But I digress... I also want to thank the rest of Team Sprocket, Lady Sprocket, Sparky, Spark Plug, Megan & PJ who chipped in to help. A big thank-you goes out to 3MadCachers (Dean and Jaqueline) who fed us some fantastic fried fish on Friday. Thanks to Panda77 (Pat & Linda) for showing up on Thursday to help ''hold'' the spot and who offered positive words of encouragement while we still pondered whether or not anybody else was going to show up on Friday. A special thanks to Team RedHawk for dropping off (totally unexpected) a bag full of very cool buttons with a picture of the nearby coke ovens and the Cochran Campout Event Cache logo printed on them. Those quickly became collectors items! Thanks also to Peggy of GoLefts who made up the nifty ''Official Geocache Recovery Vehicle'' tags to hang from your rear view mirror. Thanks to Orygun Connie for her contributions of additional prize items. I especially want to thank the teams who donated cheese for the cheeseburgers on Saturday. We dropped the ball on that one but you guys picked it right up and kept it bouncing along. Thanks again! Congratulations to Panda77 who won the Early Bird Set Up prize as well as the Most Distance Travelled prize (all the way from Wickenburg.) GoLefts and Cow Spots won the contests for the Most Caches Found and Most Cache Rating Points. Highway Havoc stole the Poker Run hand away from RTW on the last card drawn with a ''dead man's hand''-- aces and eights! Jeepster4x4 guessed the closest number of M&M candies in the jar on Saturday and DogCachers guessed the closest number of Jelly Beans in the jar on Sunday. Highway Havoc and Dave of Cow Spots were deemed to be the geekiest cachers at the event by finding over 80 of the 94 possible cache related terms in the Cochran Campout Event Word Search Puzzle. Overall we had between 60 and 70 individuals attend the event throughout the weekend and probably between 15 and 20 dogs! The dozen or so youngsters present had a great time on Saturday hunting the easter eggs that Nancy and Karen arranged for the Easter Bunny to hide. Every kid came away with a prize of some kind and a handful of change. It's also rumoured that the older ''kids'' (age 18 to 88) also had a good time. Anyone and everyone who was there on Saturday for the drawings was a winner, with prizes ranging from fully stocked ammo cans, custom made flagstone plaques, etched wine glasses (with the geocaching logo) to custom made event T-shirts, bumper stickers, and iron-on transfers to the ever-popular, often-copied but never duplicated genuine antique pre-columbian 56K US Robotics Modem (N.I.B.) that has now been given away at (at least) two Arizona Event Caches. I know I had a great time and I think everyone else did too. Nobody got hurt and as far as I know, there were no knock-down-drag-out fights among the many canines. Thanks again to everyone who attended to make this such a successful weekend. And to those of you who planned to come but decided not to because the weathermen scared you away, phooey on you! The weather turned out to be just fine. Mark it down as one of those wrong decisions you made that you'll regret for the rest of your life."      --- Sprocket1980

<>"Hey all! This was the best event I've ever attended! Of course that may be because it's the only event I've ever attended. They don't usually let us dogs into most cache events but they did this one. I met lots of other geo-dogs at this event and I met a whole bunch of humans too. I found that most of the humans were a sucker for my puppy-dog-eyes and they would feed me whatever they had on hand. I ate like a pig at this event! I ate so much stuff on Friday that I got sick and threw up. I felt better afterwards, though and it didn't stop me from making a pig of myself again on Saturday and Sunday. I had such a good time this weekend that when I got home, all I did was sleep and lay around the house on Monday. My humans thought there was something wrong with me! I was just so exhausted! I'm my old self again today, though and am looking forward to the next chance I get to go caching."      --- Cheyenne T.A.G.D (The Amazing Geo-Dog)

"We want to thank those who put a great deal of work into making this event happen. Ever little detail seemed to be covered from the outhouse (the lil DogCachers really liked this touch) to all the prizes especially for the kids. Mary and myself really enjoyed meeting everyone..."   "Thanks again for your hospitality."      --- The DogCachers

"A big "Thanks Ya'll" from team AZJammin!"   "We all had a great time out there!..."      --- azjammin

"a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR and Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler. T H A N K Y O U ! ! ! ! The Campout Event was a complete success and I had so much fun seeing and chatting with all of you! The grub was excellent and EVERYBODY was a winner!"      --- ®ioexxo

"Wow! You guys are hired to coordinate all future events in our area! Having done an event in April, 2004, we can appreciate the amount of effort it takes to pull one off. You guys performed, that's for sure."   "Thank you so much for coordinating this event. I'm anxiously awaiting the next one ~ hopefully soon, huh?!"      --- Team Dodge Podge

"Thank You!!!!!! Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR and Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler. We had the Best time and things were well thought out. What a beautiful area and the wildflowers just gorgeous!! I only wish we could have camped out and hung around a bit longer ;o) And I must say I have been enjoying that Green Chili every morning with my eggs ;op You Guys did a great job Kudos"      --- Jeepster4x4

"We had an AWESOME time at the campout. It was beautiful out in the desert and the event was run very smoothly."   "...an awesome time again and kudo's to the hosts!!"      --- 4wheelingmirage

"This was only our second event we have attended. We plan on going to many more in the future but I don't think they can out do this one. A great time was had by all. We attended on friday and saturday (we stayed in our own beds at home that night and returned early in the morning). Enjoyed the catfish dinner and the green chile cheese burgers. We were able to find some of the new caches and will have to take another trip out to grab the rest. Met some new cachers and chatted with teams we have met before. Everything was well organized with alot of drawings and give aways. The girls had a great time playing with the other kids, hunting for Easter eggs (they were practicing up for next weekend), and chasing all the dogs around camp. Thanks to Team Sprocket, AJJR, and Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler for all the time and effort put into this event. TFTAwesome event."      --- Taylor's Tomb Raiders

"Wow - just got back from the weekend"   "What a fabulous time we all had!!! We won a number of things, the kiddos had a blast (yes, that was the baby redneck playing "in the road" in the dirt)...We hope to attend more!"      --- Roamin Rednecks

"Wow! What else is there to say? This made the Halloween Radioactive look like child play. Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR, Flatiron & Mrs.Wrangler did an excellent job with tons of contests, bunches of new caches to find and prizes galore. I didn't arrive as early as I had intended, and because of that didn't get to participate in all the events or find as many caches as I could have, but I stayed later than I had planned to make up for it. Of course, it could have been those delicious burgers and dogs that made me stay instead... Thanks Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR, Flatiron & Mrs. Wrangler for organizing it. Now...when's the next one?!?"      --- LazyK - Dan

"We really applaud the efforts of Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR and Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler! The Cochran Campout Event was well planned and a complete success!! It was great to meet some new cahers and hug the ones we already knew. Thank you for making us feel right at home out in the desert!!!"      --- Cog&Gil

"This was an extremely well run event. Thanks so much to Teams Sprocket, Flatiron & Mrs Wrangler, and AJ.JR. You guys did a tremendous job of running this event. We were only going to be down there for a short time, but ended up staying the whole day and really enjoyed those great burgers and dogs. We found several caches and were first to find "1$ Movies" (GCN3VD) and received a great first finders prize (thanks AJ.JR). During the drawings, Mtn. Goat won the "huge" ammo can....now all we have to do is find a place to hide it.... We left around 7:45 and grabbed two more caches on the way home...one was Sprocket's "Quartz Site" (GCN4BV) up on a ridge where we could see the glow of the camp fire from the campout. We were really happy to have the little flashlight that we had just won at the event for this one. It was also lots of fun getting the G. Cherokee turned around on that very steep, narrow road (I think it was a road). Thanks again you guys, you really out did yourselves!!!"      --- Snobird & Mountain Goat

"...We got to this event cache around 4pm. Wish we could have stayed longer! This was one of the nicest and well run event caches I have ever seen! I wish we could have camped out, but business had me very busy this weekend. So we were only able to stay for a couple of hours. Had a great time chatting with fellow cachers and great to see old caching friends again as well! I enjoyed the Poker Run. I had the best hand all the way to the end (gotta love those Pocket Rockets!). But I got 'drawn' out on the river by Team HighwayHavoc... who ended up winning it! :) LOL Enjoyed the burger and dogs dinner as well. You are a great Chef AJ.JR! :) Good food and good times! Alot of effort went into this event cache and hats off to Sprocket, AJ.JR and Flatiron for all the hard work putting this event cache together! Very well done! The weather turned out to be nice too!"      --- Team Ropingthewind

"Wow... what a BloominFun! day... Thanks Cochran Campout Event team for all the work getting this together. We were pushing it to get there, thought we wouldn't make the "kick-off" on time, but cruised in last minute...then, unbelievably, we managed to be the FTF on three of the new caches... I think we're still in shock about it"   " Such a beautiful area. Hamburgers were perfect... Fun to meet so many of you and hope to see you again."      --- BloominFun!

"Great Event!! Thanks to all who hosted!! It was really fun!! It was fun to meet some new people."   " Hope everyone enjoyed the catfish!! We enjoyed all of the eats, games and drawings. Thanks Again!!!"      --- 3MadCachers

"Mrs Sandpitt and I had a wonderful time. The event was well thought out and planned."   "Thanks for a wonderful time."      --- sandpitt

" How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?  A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as a woodchuck could chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood!!"      --- Sprocket1980

"WOW!! we were very impressed with how organized everything was. Even a yellow tape road to the peepee teepee. We need to hire AJ.JR to do some weed chopping around our property. Everyone there was so friendly, it was great to meet so many different teams. We were able to eat a little catfish. YUMMY! Reading some of the logs it looks like we missed a lot of fun on Saturday and Sunday. We really appreciate all the time and efforts by Team AJ.JR - Team Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler - Team Sprocket and Team Cheyenne the Dog. On a scale of 1 to 10 this cache was rated 10+++++. Great job and thanks again!!!"      --- 4 WHEEL TACO

"A huge thanks to Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR, Flatiron & Mrs. Wrangler, and all their families who put on such a well organized event.  My middle daughter and I camped out Friday night and stayed until the awards on Saturday. We had a great time at the fire on Friday and another fun day on Saturday with the different teams we cached with and the events. We didnt hunt many, but the ones we found were fun for my daughter (who didnt think much of caching until this event).  The teams who put on this event couldnt have done a better job with the food and organization. Some of the many highlights included the Easter Egg Hunt, where there was a prize for every child and the final drawing where every team won at least two prizes. My daughter Emma has a special thanks for Nancy of Team AJ.JR for her help. Thanks again,"      --- Kasey and Emma of AzCelts

"Thanks to our hosts! We'll never know the time and effort put into executing this event. Much less the Uhaul needed to bring in all the prizes. A job well done, the weather cooperated despite all reports, and a good time was had by all. A toast to you with the prize wine in my new glass!"      --- golefts

"Having not been involved in the caching scene for a number of months now, this event was an awesome welcome back! I showed up on Friday and split outta there on Sunday. The meals provided were great. I had never eaten catfish before, so that was a treat; and the generous amount of syrup at the breakfast was truly a sweet touch. I was fortunate to pick up a first find with one of the new caches Saturday morning, even after rubberizing my legs on the hike to RTW-2. The poker run now that was a trip! I had some help in winning that one, much to others chagrin. Thanks to Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR, Flatiron & Mrs.Wrangler for this outstanding event!"      --- Highwayhavoc

"This was a well executed event and I was happy to see so many attendees! "   "I really like attending events like these to meet more cachers. It feels like a comfortable community when we all get together. The prizes, the food, the caches and all the little thoughtful things made it an outstanding event-(including Sprocket not being able to get any first finds!) thanks to all who helped on it."      --- orygun connie

"PANDA77 and the three k-9's had a FANTASTIC weekend at this event. Wow! So many activities and prizes. Way to Go! to Team Sprocket, Team AJ.JR, Flatiron and Mrs. Wrangler and any others involved in the planning or Co-hosting of this Event."   "... got in some Caching and Camping. We won some great prizes: A Geocache Stone Sign for first to arrive and set-up, 5 gals of gas for furthest travelled (that really came in handy.) Won a Logo T-shirt and a bumper sticker made specifically for the Campout Event. Also, won an iron-on geocache logo transfer and a book. Loved the Poker Run (even though we couldn't make a pair.) Made it to 5 of the 9 event caches. The Saturday night burgers and dogs get together and the Sunday Breakfast were delicious. Thanks to the Cooks. Enjoyed the Community Campfire. Thanks to the weather Gods for an excellent weekend."   " Hope you make this an annual event."      --- PANDA77
