The two photos below illustrate the effect normally seen before and after calibration. The photo on the left has too much blue, resulting in washed out skin tones and less depth in the picture. This is the way most televisions come from the manufacturer. The picture on the right is similar to a well calibrated television. No red was added to the second photo - the blue was reduced.
