Import and Sport Compact Scenic Drive

Here it is, the 2004 scenic drive. It’s that time again to get out for some passionate driving where we can all let go for the day. Our destination is once again Warsaw, Mo where we will gather for food at the local Sonic, hit the Harry S. Truman Dam, and “DAM” it just have a good time. We will be starting the combined drive from Clinton Missouri into Warsaw, with a pre-planned route of some back roads and highways for some fun driving and an all out good time.
Pre-cruise to Clinton:
Kansas City Group will meet at Bannister Mall McDonalds between 8:45 and 9:15 AM. We will roll out promptly at 9:20 to hopefully be in Clinton by 11:00. We will rally up w/ the Southern counterparts of our party at the Wal-Mart parking lot on Highway 13 on the south side of Clinton Missouri.
435 to 71 to 7 in to Clinton, MO
Springfield Group will meet at Wal-Mart on North Kansas expressway. Meet up 8:45-9am, departing Springfield at 9:15AM.
From Clinton:
“Highway 7 South” heading east directly out of Wal-Mart parking lot. Approx 12 miles east of Clinton turn south (right) on state Highway U. Approx 12 miles U stops at Highway Z, turn east (left). 8 miles to Highway 7 junction, turn right. Follow 7 into Warsaw Mo. Traffic light at Commercial Street, turn left (north) and pull into Sonic …
After Sonic we will head to the Truman Dam. Exiting Sonic we will get back on to 7 heading west (right), we will take 7 to “Bledsoe Ferry” Dam Access Road where we will turn North (right). Cross over on dam then take your first right after dam, proceed to park/picnic area.
Two-way radios are pretty much a must have and can be picked up relatively cheap at Wal-Mart. They also add to the enjoyment of the day. Just be responsible and realize that they will be the only tool between the front and the back end to keep us all together. Radar detectors are beneficial and will help in all of us having a good day. Also remember this is a cruise and scenic drive, yes there will be opportunities to push your car a little, but we ask that you be safe, think of everyone around you, and keep the pace of the group. We want a safe fun drive for all and want to minimize any chance for an accident, ticket, etc… So please just use good judgment.
