460 Conversion Pictures

These are the pictures I took of the car and engine during the conversion. In the pictures of the engine compartment, you can see where I had to cut holes in the bottom corners of the shock towers, right at the upper A-arm, for header tube clearance. You can also see where I had to cut the mid-plate and pop a hole in the passenger side (behind the shock tower) for a tube to run outside the framerail, the headers were for a 71-73 Mustang which is a little wider than this but they do fit with a little work.

The pictures of the combustion chambers are a bit out of focus (I'm a lousy photographer ...lol) but I just wanted to give an idea of the port work done. I want to thank Jim Davis aka: Kwasi Motor of Match Port Engineering and a teammate of mine with TSR for all of his help with this engine and cylinder head combination...thank you Jim, your help has been greatly appreciated, and of course Spud at S&J Machine in Belmont Ca for letting me use the shop... thanks Spud....your the best!

The ugly stock valve cover is on the driver's side because my "trick" Ford Motorsport cover hit the master cylinder...and not just a little bit either! I traded them for a set of Moroso covers (thanks Bruce!) that cured the clearance problem and look almost as good as the Motorsports.

hope you enjoy the pics, Butcher
