The Hurst family consists of Steve (owner), his wife Connie of 36 years, their two daughters, Tracy and Jamie, and their grandchildren, Mercedes, Hunter, and Camry. Currently, there are 10 employees working for Hurst, Inc. They include Steve's mother-in-law, daughters, grandchildren and friends. It truly is a family-owned business. Hurst, Inc., is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (closed 12:00-1:00); Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We are closed on holidays and Sundays. Steve - with his wife's support(!) - started the business as a hobby back in the late 1970s. All family members have a love of automobiles and have helped Steve develop his hobby into a successful business opportunity. Steve has been a member of the Iowa Auto Recyclers Association since 2000. Daughter Tracy is currently a member of the IAR board. Hurst, Inc., takes part in recycling and is environmentally concerned. Hurst, Inc., has been at its current location since 1988. The land, originally a corn field, now holds 6 buildings and continues to grow. The yard consists of over 1,000 cars and trucks ranging in years from early 1980 to the present. The Hollander Inventory System, which holds information from approximately 3,500 different auto recycling yards, allows Hurst, Inc., to be able to locate almost any needed part anywhere in the United States or Canada. We can also order aftermarket parts through this system. The "front row" of Hurst, Inc., offers a wide selection of used and drivable cars for sale that range in price from $500 to $5,000.
