The purpose of this site is to keep project members apprised of revision progress and provide a point of contact for feedback related to revisions of the bylaws. The National Coordinator is the appointing authority of the BRC, current members are; Roger Swafford - Chairman, Don Kelly, Bettie Wood, Gloria B. Mayfield, Ron Henson, Denise Wells, Bob Sweeney, Vicki Shaffer, Sharon Tabor, Paulette Carpenter, Shari Handley - NC (ex-officio).

Committee Instructions:
From the BFC report: The purpose of the Bylaws Revision Committee shall be to study the current USGenWeb Project Bylaws to determine which portions need revising. The Committee shall then propose for revision: 1) Deletion of unnecessary sections; 2) Clarification or strengthening sections; 3) New Articles that may be deemed necessary.

One item that is important is to make it quite clear that the goal here is a Bylaws revision process and no part of that purpose is to make major
revisions in the project itself.

News - The Advisory Board has considered the committee report submitted 14 May 04 and voted on four questions related to the Bylaws Revision:
- The report has been returned to the BRC for further work.
- The Bylaws Revision does not require state sponsorship.
- The Bylaws Revision must be reported back to the Advisory Board when feasible but not later than 60 days prior to the 2005 election cycle, and that the Revision may be presented to the membership for vote on adoption by special referendum authorized by the Advisory Board.
- Members shall have the ability to vote on each article of the revision

Update - Jan. 13, 2005 - The BRC has voted to include amendments to the following articles in the report due not later than April 1, 2005.
