Space Visitors
Welcome, astronaut. Today you will be on a mission to search the nine planets in our solar system. After exploring the planets, you will send a cyber postcard to communicate with an earthling back home. You will be able to choose which planet is your favorite and send a postcard from
that planet.
THE TASK
Astronaut, your job is to collect data from each planet. You and your crewmember will need to take turns searching the planets on the computer. Before you return to your favorite planet to mail your postcard you must report into Mission Control (your teacher) before blasting off.
This information will need to be recorded in your journal for each planet:
The order the planet is from the sun.
Does the planet have any moons?
If yes, how many moons does it have?
THE PROCESS
Now you are ready to begin your mission. You may begin by clicking on a planet below. Once you have reached your destination look for the data needed to complete your journal. After each planet hit the back key to return to this page. You may then choose another destination (don’t forget to take turns with your partner). Continue until all planets have been visited and you have recorded the necessary data. Please request a meeting with Mission Control before proceeding to the postcard.
